each school year just before the classes start. This particular calendar includes the complete schedule for the start as well as end of classes, exams, distributions of cars, school breaks, Parent-Teacher conferences (PTA) and official regular and special non-working holidays.
All public schools are required to follow the DepEd calendar while the private schools may deviate but they may not start their school year earlier than June 4 and not later than August 31. All schools – both private and public – should follow the prescribed number of days of classes, which is 200 days a per school year.
Based on the DepEd order No. 025 s. 2018, The Christmas break shall begin on December 15, 2018 (Saturday) and the classes will resume on January 2, 2019 (Wednesday). The remedial/summer classes shall begin on April 15, 2019 (Monday) and will end on May 24, 2019 (Friday). The following is a list of activities for 2019 for the school year 2018-2019:

In preparation for the opening of classes for SY 2019-2020, all schools shall follow the following activities:
- Early registration of learner, which will begin on January 26, 2019 (Saturday)
- Brigada Eskwela which will begin from May 13-May 17, 2019 to prepare for school facilities before the new school year starts
- Oplan Balik Eskwela which will begin from May 20-May31, 2019 to effectively facilitate the enrolment of learners
- In-Service Training (INSET) activities for teachers which will start from May 27-May 31, 2019 – just a week before the classes start
You can also check the DepEd calendar for SY 2019-2020 to check for those days declared as regular and special non-working holidays or no classes as well as the student activities and other possible activities that involve the learners. Aside from that, you can also check for the dates of possible school activities for the personnel, teachers and other stakeholders of the school.
