Last month, January 27, a certain website Moving2Canada announced that the immigrant program was re-opened for qualified applicants. The good news was made to basically boost the economic development of Alberta. Qualified workers are invited to apply in the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program in Canada. The immigrant program was closed last August of 2015 because of some backlogs caused by excessive entry of applications.
For qualified applicants, permanent residency will be given after thorough assessment.
Applications will be classified as Employer-Driven Stream, Strategic Recruitment Stream and Self-Employed Farmer Stream. Applicants classified in Employer-Driven Stream are being offered full-time and permanent jobs. Applicants classified as Strategic Recruitment are thoroughly assessed if they can actually help with the economic progress of Alberta. Lastly, Applicants in the Self-Employed Farmer Stream category are people willing to invest a farming business amounting to $500,000.
A valid work permit is necessary throughout the whole process. Exemption will only be given to those applicants under the category of Strategic Recruitment Stream Engineering Occupations.

- Electrical Power Line and Cable Workers
- Tile Setters
- Plasterers
- Dry Wall Installers
- Finishers
- Lathers
- Glaziers
- Automotive Service Technician
- Truck and Bus Mechanics
- Mechanical Repairers
