Last July Taiwan government approved the minimum wage salary of migrants worker and now another good news for Filipino maids in Taiwan together with three other foreign (Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam) country that they might have an additional salary wage increased.
According to Taiwan’s Labor Ministry they agree to increase the salary of foreign maids and this was confirmed by our good Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz on Monday that she received a report regarding the household increase of Filipino maids in Taiwan.
According to Baldoz “The NT$17,000 minimum salary is NT$1,160 above the current NT$15,840 a month salary of HSWs, but NT$500 less than what the four sending countries have demanded. Nevertheless, this is the first increase in the minimum salary of HSWs in the last 18 years,” she added.
Let’s hope and pray that on August 28 this matter will going smooth to finalize the minimum salary wage hike of our fellow Filipino workers in Taiwan. Based also on the report to our Philippine representative in Taiwan, the Vice Minister Feng Ming-hao is initiating the 1st Joint Labor Conference between Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
