GOOD NEWS! The Overseas Welfare Workers Administration (OWWA) will send financial support to Overseas Filipino Workers affected by the financial crisis in Saudi Arabia. Affected OFWs such as those stranded or unpaid, shall receive financial assistance which will be given directly to them. Whether you are staying in camp sites, living out or repatriated back to the Philippines, you will receive and adequate amount to sustain your current financial needs.
The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Jeddah, Al Khobar, and Riyadh are tasked to distribute the much needed financial assistance to every qualified Overseas Filipino Worker in KSA.
For those repatriated OFWs, Regional Offices of OWWA shall provide assistance to them and their families.
Cost of the Financial Assistance?
P20,000 (SR1,590) will be given to each qualified OFW.
Those OFWs currently staying at their job sites will receive the same amount plus P6,000 for their families in the Philippines.
The financial assistance shall only be given to OFWs stranded in Saudi Arabia, under the following companies;
- Saudi Bin Laden Group of Companies (SBG)
- Real Estate Development and Investment Company
- Mohammed al-Mojil Group (MMG)
- Arabtec Construction L.L.C.
- Saudi Oger Ltd. (SOL)
- Rajeh H. Al Merri Contracting Company
- Mohammad Hameed Al-Bargash & Bros. Trading and Construction
- Aluminum Company (ALUMCO L.L.C.)
Repatriated OFWs can claim their financial assistance in any OWWA Regional Welfare Offices near them.
How To Avail
As long as you can present legal documents to POLO, you can avail this program. You will also have to fill out necessary forms given by OWWA Officers. Bring your Company ID, Employment contract, passport copy or Iqama/work permits as proof of identity.
OFWs Affected But Are Still Staying At Job Site
Accredited POLO-OWWA Assistant shall issue the application forms and release the financial assistance. On the other hand, OFWs repatriated back to the Philippines can visit their nearest OWWA Office near you.
Requirements:
- Fully accomplished application form
- Proof of Identity (Company ID, Employment Contract, iqama/work permit, and passport copy)
- Proof of Relationship with the OFW
