The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced that they will be hiring thousands of new police officers this year.
This initiative has been made official after the National Police Commission (Napolcom) has approved 21,200 recruitment slots for Police Officer 1. This was announced through a 2016 resolution as approved by Napolcom where the police forces will be open to recruiting 10,000 civilians for the regular quota plus 11,200 new police officers for the attrition recruitment quota.
Rogelio T. Casurao, Vice Chair and Executive Officer of Napolcom, said in a statement:
“The regular recruitment quota is intended to strengthen the Public Safety Forces (PSFs) in identified Police Regional Offices (PROs) which operate in insurgency-affected areas and to support the personnel build-up of other PROs and some of the National Operational Support Units of the PNP, such as the Special Action Force (SAF), Maritime Group (MG) and Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP).”
The 10,000 regular quota is distributed for each region as follows:

- PRO3- 450

- PRO4B- 450

Casurao further emphasized:
“Chiefs of PNP offices/units and members of the PNP Regional Screening Committees are required to ensure strict compliance with the recruitment procedures and guarantee the appointment of the best and most qualified police personnel, otherwise, they would be subjected to administrative sanctions.”
Applications can now be filed at the National Capital Regional Office (NCRPO) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, taguig City and at police regional offices nationwide, Casurao said.
