Good News! Last February 24, 2016, the inauguration for the new electronics training lab happened in Laguna, Philippines.
The Electronics Products Assembly and Servicing Training Laboratory is built through the partnership of Samsung Electronics, TESDA, and the Foundation for Information Technology Education and is situated inside the Binan City compound of Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts and Trades (JZGMSAT).
A total of 25 youths are the first batch to participate in the learning process of this state-of-the-art lab. They are trained under TESDA’s Electronics Products Assembly and Servicing (EPAS) NC II course. Assessment will be done every three years to review relevant content.
According to Irene Isaac, TESDA Director General, it is indeed overwhelming to know that a huge company as Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation is willing to lend a helping hand to mold youths, especially out-of-school youths, and attain their dreams in life. Samsung is willing to supply technical inputs, tools, equipment and other necessary materials that will be used throughout the course.
According to the chief public affairs of Samsung Electronics they are positive that this partnership will help develop workers in the field of consumer electronics and the shortage of skilled workers will soon be eliminated through creating more jobs.
Samsung Electronics also have plans in constructing same laboratories throughout the country especially in the regions of Visayas and Mindanao.
JZGSAT administrator, Benito Reyes, is truly grateful upon the help of Samsung Electronics. With this partnership, more work will get established.
The first same laboratory was opened by Samsung last June of 2015, situated at TESDA’s Women Center in Taguig, Philippines.
Training goes for 2 months and 30 days followed by on-the-job training or in-company training for 10 months.
The JZGMSAT in Laguna is named as the largest TESDA managed school in the country. It offers different technical courses for out-of-school youth yet anyone interested to enroll in this program is very much welcome.
