Some Metrobank account owners may be wondering if it is possible to transfer money from their Metrobank account to a BDO account.
This is a lingering question for many Metrobank customers, especially with the online banking feature called MetrobankDirect. With this web-based tool, transferring funds should be possible in a few clicks, right?
Well, apparently not.
We did some research about this topic and the result was downright disappointing. Even if you log on to your Metronabank online banking account, you will find no features that will allow you to transfer funds to a BDO account.
Actually, we found out that it is only possible to transfer money from a Metrobank account to another Metrobank account. So let’s say you are purchasing something online and you want to use the convenience of online banking for your transaction, you should make sure that the online seller is also using Metrobank. Otherwise, your only choice would be to deposit the money through another bank or to use payment methods such as Paypal, Western Union, ML Kwarta Padala, and others. Or maybe your good old credit card.
So as of the moment, it is not possible to send funds over at BDO. Let’s all hope the Metrobank people will take notice of this matter though and do some necessary changes. It would be very convenient for their clients if this feature would be available online.
If you really need to send money to a BDO account holder, your best bet would be to deposit the funds over the counter by visiting a nearby BDO branch. Otherwise, you may instead use your BDO account if you have one. Just be sure that you are also enrolled to BDO online banking.
Actually, BDO online banking users have the advantage since they can easily transfer money to other local banks including Metrobank, BPI, Unionbank, and others.
